| PAM JOHNSON who resides and works in Houston, creates mysterious drawings
of natural forms, some of which incorporate details of and variations on historical
botanical illustrations. The graceful curves of Johnson's images have the elegant serenity of the 16th and 17th century tradition that she
works in, but updated with the more dynamic contemporary feeling of three-dimensional shadows and coils. Johnson's work was included in the
1999 exhibition "Texas Draws" at the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston.
