Autumn at d berman gallery commences with an exhibition of "The Blue Paintings" by Denny McCoy. Saturated shades of blue from cerulean to ultramarine characterize this most recent body of work from McCoy, in which apparently stable wide and narrow vertical bars of blue begin to shift, vibrate, disappear and reappear as a result of the illusionary effects of light and color. McCoy, who earned his MFA at Washington University in St. Louis, has exhibited in galleries across the United States, including his home state of Texas. He resides in Austin.
