A direct way for an artist to explore
visual ideas, drawing provides the viewer with
intimate and immediate access to the artist’s mind,
hand, and eye. Some
of the earliest known art, the cave paintings at Lascaux,
France, are in fact drawings, a fundamental means of
expression.
